Evaluation of Animation Assessment

Introduction

For my project I am making a Pool and Snooker game called "The Lifestyle Of Pool And Snooker".

The animation assignment has helped me with the creation of this game by making my walking animation and my animation for the Pool and Snooker balls rolling around the Pool table.

This is important to the creation of my game because it will make the game more realistic and will make both the collisions of the Pool and Snooker balls look much better and the more keyframes in the walk cycle the more realistic that will look also.

Practical Work

The software I have used to make these animations is Maya 2020. This is because Maya allows me to use key frames to make the animation look better.

The work flow I have used for managing my time with the other assignments also, is around 1 to 1 and a half hours a day to make sure that this assignment is completed properly.

The technique I have used during the animation stage was key framing. The two animations I built were a walk cycle for the characters within my game and the balls moving along in different directions for the player taking shots at the Pool or Snooker table.

The results for how my animations worked are shown in the bar chart below.

The conclusion that I have reached after creating my animations was that for the walk cycle it has turned out as well as I expected if not better and the ball animation the conclusion is the same.

To conclude, I have learnt that during the practical work the more key frames added the better and more realistic the animation looks.

Self Evaluation

During this assignment, I feel that I have done well and as evidence I have both my walking animation which will be used for the characters within the game, both players and AI also, I have madd a Pool and Snooker ball rolling animation to make the Pool and Snooker balls look realistic when a collision happens.

The soft skill I used to make these animations was key framming. I think this went well because it showed a realistic and well put together animation once it was completed.

I think, that this could have gone better by adding either effects or by adding more keyframes to make the animations look even more realistic.

Next time, I will mitigate these tasks better by maybe having a table of order and process telling me what exact order everything would be completed in, which will show more professionalism.

I feel that this will make my animations better because the more time spent on planning the more planned out the animations will be and the more professional it will look.

Overall, I feel that this assignment went well because it has allowed me to sharpen my animation skills by learning key framing and has improved my overall game.

Target Setting

Ifeel in order to improve my ability to complete these assignments my first smart target will be time management.

This is important because by setting out specific time slots for everything to be completed by, I will get more and higher quality of work completed.

My second target is to add more planning before just rushing into the assignment.

I feel that this is an important smart target because by planning things out in either an order of process list or in a mind map it will give me time to think about what I am going to include rather than just jumping into the project.

Conclusion

Overall, I feel that this project during the animation assignment has went well.

I feel this way because I feel that I have made my animations to a professional standard.

From the practical work that I have achieved, I feel that my assignment has gone well because I have learnt to use key frames to make my work look more realistic.

Overall, as a self evaluation I feel that I have achieved.

This is because I feel not only that I have put the time and effort into the assignment, but I have also learnt a new technique of key framing.

Overall, I feel that the targets that I have set myself will help me to improve because I will be more professional and organised.
